Suspect in Custody; Traffic Flow Restored After Transport Truck Moves Off QEW

AURORA, ON, Oct. 31, 2011 /CNW/ - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a transport truck that had been followed by police for approximately five (5) hours. The truck eventually pulled off the travelled portion of the Toronto-bound QEW near the Fairview/Plains Road exit.

The first goal was to ensure this situation was resolved safely and that has been achieved. The OPP reports no one was injured during the operation to monitor the suspect vehicle's progress. The OPP appreciates the cooperation of its law enforcement partners and motorists who abided by the traffic information provided.

One male person has been taken into custody without incident. The transport truck had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
